Phil Turner has a wealth of experience steering business sales and marketing strategy. With a creative flair and exceptional leadership skills, he knows how to unleash the potential of his team to generate high business growth.

Phil’s current role is Commercial Director at Cutting Edge Services, a leading supplier of food processing machinery, services and consumables based in Chorley. In addition to being on the board of Directors, Phil oversees marketing, sales and e-commerce with a strong focus on customer service.

Previous to this, he was Cutting Edge Services’ Marketing Director. Owing to his new role, Phil needed to recruit a Marketing Manager to take over supervising the marketing team.

When Phil approached us to help him find a new Marketing Manager, we put Susannah, one of our Senior Consultants, on the case.

Susannah also has a focus on digital marketing and full mix marketing, putting her in a great position to recruit the role of Marketing Manager.

She began her assignment by spending quality time with Phil to understand the role’s requirements and the ideal candidate.

Equipped with all the information required to source the best candidate, Susannah found a highly-skilled professional who was perfect for the role.

Phil describes him as ‘an absolute gem.’ He has over 20 years experience within B2C and B2B media sectors, working as a Marketing Executive for high-profile companies.

The candidate also has a substantial amount of experience within the agricultural industry. Since Cutting Edge is a supplier of food manufacturing machinery, this made him a great match for the company.

Moreover, his specialisms lie in loyalty and retention strategies, digital marketing and brand management - the exact skills Phil was looking for in a new Marketing Manager.

Within six months of his placement, the candidate was promoted to Head of Marketing and he has since taken over managing the contact centre.

This is what Phil wanted and more: a new team member who could follow in his footsteps in pushing the business forward.
