Manchester Street Angels

Back to Blogs

As has become a company tradition since our HQ moved to central Manchester in 2013, Adam Recruitment (@WeAreAdam) has chosen a charity to start a relationship for Christmas 2015 & beyond. Following on the back of our continued support for Forever Manchester (@4EVERManchester) & Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital(@RMCHcharity) this year we have chosen to support the fantastic work of Manchester Street Angels(@McrStreetAngels)

Born out of the desire to help the homeless and vulnerable of Manchester, Manchester Street Angels have been running since early 2014. Backed by a dedicated core of selfless volunteers, the charity aims to help keep the most vulnerable in our society safer, warm, fed & watered. The charity is 100% reliant on the generous support of both individuals and organisations who provide everything to make the mission possible.

As a kick off to our relationship with Manchester Street Angels, some of the staff of Adam Manchester will be spending our last working day (Xmas Eve) delivering a Christmas breakfast to the homeless of central Manchester. Much of the breakfast items have been kindly donated by our friends at The Co-Operative (@CooperativeFood).

From 10am a team of volunteers will be on hand on Deansgate, (opposite Pinarello) to hand out hot food and drinks to anyone who needs it. The operation is backed by GMP (@GMPolice) and their Chief Constable Ian Hopkins will be in attendance and helping to hand out the breakfasts.

Louise Hunter, Senior Consultant with Adam HR (@Louise_Hunter) has been one of main champions to get involved;

“I really am looking forward to volunteering with Manchester Street Angels on Christmas Eve. Forme it has been on my mind for some time now. Like a lot of people I’m keen to do something/give something back, but time passes you by and you don’t make the time for it. The opportunity to do something in conjunction with work really was an opportunity I wanted to jump on board with – and I hope that after helping on Christmas Eve I will be able to do more to help them moving forward in the new year. They are run solely by volunteers so it is super important that people give their time up, even if it is only for a few hours, I’m sure we can all do that, no matter how busy we are! “

Like a lot of modern businesses, Adam are keen to make sure their values are actions and not just words. We are looking forward to starting this new journey with Manchester Street Angels on Xmas Eve and in to 20216.
