Head of Talent and Capability - Bedfordshire - Permanent - Upto £85,000 doe

The business

Having recently entered a phase of growth and transformation they recognise that people and development are absolutely crucial to achieving their future plans and are prepared to invest significantly in this area, backed up by their commitment to this key hire.

The role

The Head of Talent and Capability is a newly created role which will work with the HR Director to pull together multiple strands of the people strategy, and drive forward the talent, development and diversity and inclusion agenda to shape and embed a high performance culture.

Initially undertaking a review of any current or previous activity around this, you will ultimately, along with your team, develop a Talent strategy from scratch, using (amongst other diagnostic tools) stakeholder feedback to gauge priorities and pressure points across the organisation.

Key focuses in this broad role are anticipated to include the development of an end to end talent acquisition strategy with a particular focus on future talent and employer brand, the building of a talent framework that supports succession planning and the identification of high potentials, the development of a suite of L&D interventions which meet both people and business needs, and the development of a robust diversity and inclusion strategy.

The person

First and foremost we are looking for an individual with a proven track record of leading the development of a robust talent and development framework which includes the areas detailed above (Resourcing, L&D, Talent Management, D&I).

Additionally, we are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to create something from scratch, working with a leadership team who will look to them for their expertise and a technical, highly skilled workforce who haven't previously had this level of focus from a Talent perspective.
