​Human Resources Administrator Jobs

The role of Human Resources Administrator is a balanced mixture of both administrative and HR tasks. Administrators support an overall HR department within a business or organisation. They are expected to be the first point of contact for most HR-related activity within the workplace, and administrate any data and documentation that relates to these queries.

Responsibilities

HR Administrators report to a HR Manager or Director, and share similar responsibilities to that of a HR Advisor, albeit that role is typically for more senior members of a department. The responsibilities of a HR Administrator largely depend on the size of the business, as well as the capacity of the position. The candidate’s personal experience and capability is also taken into consideration. HR Administrators are employed to ensure that a HR department is doing its utmost to lawfully support employees.

• Maintain personnel records and any other internal HR databases

• Maintain payee records, calculating pay and distributing monies owed

• Assist in the recruitment process for the business, and liaise with recruitment agencies when needed

• Issue internal correspondence and communication

• Participate in educational opportunities

Expected Skills & Qualifications

Candidates will find competition for entry level positions like this. While it isn’t a necessity, it is recommended that candidates possess a CIPD/NVQ/SVQ qualification when applying for this role. This well help your prospects. Interpersonal communication skills are essential for this role, as HR Administrators work with a variety of different people across a business. Other technical skills are also important. Key skills include:

• Proven experience as a HR Administrator or Administrative Assistant • Understanding of contemporary HR systems and databases

• Fluent in modern IT programmes, eg. Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint • Strong organisational and administrative skills

• Meticulous attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal communication skills Salary The average salary for a HR Administrator in the United Kingdom is currently around £19,800 per year. The entry-level salary currently averages at around £15,000 per year. More experienced candidates can hope to earn upwards of £26,000 per year plus bonuses. Career Progression
