I am currently representing a Central Manchester based Health Start Up who are looking to add a Senior Data Scientist to their team.
The business is at inception stage and looking to develop an MVP following recent investment.
The business' founder established the idea as a result of a family incident and is targeting the healthcare market. Particularly the Type 1 Diabetes sector.
The aim is to launch the final product in 12-18 months which will have a prolific social impact and enable type 1 diabetes sufferers to accurately monitor blood sugar levels with ease.
This business has huge potential both socially and economically and is backed by industry leaders.
Key Skills:
*2+ years experience in solving large analytical problems using statistical, machine learning or other quantitative methods.
*Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or similar quantitative discipline. Advanced degrees preferred.
*Equally comfortable with implementing algorithms as well as performing ad-hoc analysis and deriving insights.
*Solid programming skills (e.g. R, Python, C++, C#, Java), and fluency in SQL.
*Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing (Hadoop, Spark, Mahout, NoSQL, Hive, Pig) or the ability to learn these quickly.
*A background in Bio-informatics and a PHD would be highly beneficial.
