Organisation: Outdoor sports centre based in North Wales, organisation has secured funding until 2026 in an incredible industry that is growing (B2B and B2C)

Location North Wales - site based 4 days a week on average, 35 staff
Salary circa £65k
We are helping our client find an experienced Operations Director. The successful candidate will direct and coordinate the implementation of the operational strategy, working with all other departments to ensure that they business has an efficient working environment and processes.
The Role:
This will be a strategic role, as well as having day-to-day responsibility for customer experience. It is a key leadership role and will be instrumental in supporting the business' culture of excellence.
You'll be responsible for the flow of operational performance management and KPI measures to the Chief Executive and the Board, and you'll ensure that all deadlines are met consistently. You will also be responsible for the delivery of facility development and growth plans.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
*Determine operational priorities through the formulation of a strategic operational department plan which incorporates the future vision and objectives of the Company.
*To lead, advise and work closely with the Commercial Director, to drive the commercial product delivery across the business.
*The liaison with partners and other agencies to source and commission facility development, including: Sport England, Sport Wales and National Governing Bodies
*Lead on the development and management of the Company ICT related business processes, in order to provide an appropriate information infrastructure within the Company.
*Provide ongoing advice and guidance on continuous improvement and value for money, through contract management, procurement opportunities and tendering via tender portals.
*Manages, promotes and enforces safety in the workplace. Oversees all procedures and policy relating to health and safety, including risk assessments, inspection and testing.
*Manages internal and external service suppliers including the outsourced facility maintenance provider.
*Identifies improvement areas and plans and implements systems and policies to boost company effectiveness and manage resources costs.
*Oversees daily activity of the operational team and provides advice and guidance to Line Managers in order to meet objectives and deadlines.
*Manages stock and inventory, develops plans to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs ensuring accountability and control to budget holders.
*Determine facility staffing requirements annually as part of budget process and ensure staff are engaged to meet company objectives by supporting and coaching employees.
*To undertake performance monitoring against KPIs, including quality accreditations and champion Environmental and sustainability.
*Undertake ongoing staff development and maintain the implementation of statutory training and qualifications where appropriate to meet service need, identifying to HR any gaps or future needs to enable safe service delivery.
*Ensure the financial viability of the business through effective resource allocation and management.
*Effective and motivational team leadership and communication by being present and in regular contact with staff teams ensuring that information is communicated throughout the department and the wider business.
*Recruit, manage, motivate and develop employees within the business, ensuring their health and safety at work in order to ensure that all aspects of service provision are delivered to the highest possible standard.
*Inform, support and advise the Board of Trustees to enable them to perform their executive, scrutiny and Director responsibilities and ensure that decisions are appropriately informed.
*Function as part of the Senior Leadership Team in the collective development of the vision, values and objectives of the company and in the delivery of services which meet shareholder expectations and priorities.
*Represent the business at a local, regional and national level in order to promote, protect and enhance the profile and reputation of the company.

Who are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire, motivate and lead teams in a B2B and B2C organisation. Have experience in delivering high performance outputs and experience of delivering services to meet rigorous contractual and quality standards. Have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and in a team environment, to lead teams and motivate people. The teams include hospitality, maintenance, business planning , process, health & safety, risk management and an outsourced IT team. You must have excellent time management, planning and organisational skills along with communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to produce reports for Board level and external consumption and strong negotiating and influencing skills.
Skillset required: Multi site/Multi venue sector experience essential.
Excellent Internal/External stakeholder management experience essential.
Excellent contract management experience essential.
