As Marketing and Communications Executive, you will help develop and implement the marketing communications plan alongside the Head of Marketing and Communications to ensure the key messages are incorporated into all communications. This includes external media coverage, social media, the website and other communication outlets and marketing materials.

Role specific duties and responsibilities:

Communications -
-Liaise with colleagues across the team to establish effective communication strategies for all stakeholder groups.
-Be responsible for generating content and messaging for marketing materials such as the prospectus, course guides and other collateral.
-Write stories for digital channels, alerting and inviting journalists to attend events, social media coverage and multimedia content.
Media & Public Relations -
-Provide an effective PR consultancy service to colleagues including keeping up to date with all relevant media sources in order to advise colleagues on best and most effective response to any given situation.
-Develop a network of media contacts - develop useful working relationships with relevant journalists in order to place articles, plan editorial contributions and work in collaboration with them.
-Ensure all news stories are uploaded to web pages, shared via social media channels and through other digital platforms.
Planning -
-Develop a social media strategy to engage a range of audiences and raise the profile of the organisation through innovative content.
Digital and Social -
-Understand the role of social media in relation to reputation management and support the Head of Marketing and Communications to ensure that potentially damaging news and issues are handled in a sensitive and appropriate manner.
-Support the production of digital content for use across the External Affairs division.

Experience/Skills Required:

-2/3 years' experience of working in a marketing or communications role
-A solid understanding of communications channels - email, social media, press, radio, television- and how each works
-Experience of effective media crisis management
-Excellent IT skills, including CMS for uploading stories to the web and working knowledge of social media
-Excellent writing and content generation skills
-Highly developed interpersonal skills - with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
