Job description

HR Operations Manager, UK - Bedfordshire - Upto £65,000 plus bens - Permanent

This is a medium sized international business offering a breadth of services within a niche market. A market leader in their field they have a highly skilled workforce who are very much at the forefront of innovation within the industry. Striving for excellence in all they do, they are looking to recruit a HR Operations Manager to lead the UK HR team, reporting into the Group HR Director.

This business has strong roots in the area and a longstanding and loyal workforce. The business has experience a significant amount of change over the last few years as they have strengthened their international reach and there are a number of programmes underway both on a local and global level.

This scope for this role is the UK business, leading a small team of HR professionals to ensure the business receives a commercially focused, effective and pragmatic HR service. You will partner with Senior Managers, supporting them in people issues and coaching them to get the best out of their people, while ensuring they take ownership and accountability for leading their teams. This is not an ER heavy environment but there will be occasional issues to support with, as well as managing the team to deliver the cyclical HR activities such as pay review and appraisal / performance process. Working within a group / global model the HR Operations Manager will be responsible for translating any group programmes for the UK ensuring they are tailored where possible and communicated effectively. There are a few projects imminent such as the delivery of new systems and looking at the engagement strategy. Coaching, developing and supporting the existing team will also form part of the role, providing strong leadership and owning the UK HR delivery.

This is an operational business and therefore regular site presence is required, although home working is certainly supported with a hybrid model in place.

For this role we are looking for demonstrable experience in a varied HR Management position, preferably with some exposure to an operational, and unionised environment. Some understanding of the dynamics of an international business would be helpful although not essential as the role is primarily UK focused.

This is a really interesting environment where you can really feel at the heart of the action, this is a full service site with a diverse workforce giving real variety in workload. On top of the salary there are competitive benefits including a generous pension.
