Job description

We are looking to recruit a Marketing Manager for a growing SME business (c.£5m annual revenue) which is a SaaS vendor. The business is based in central Manchester.

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the entire day to day marketing operation, with direct reports and full budgetary responsibilities. The role will require strong marketing automation technical know-how, including implementation, which will be used to evolve the marketing automation capabilities, ensuring best-in-class digital marketing and campaign execution is achieved.

The right person will have a keen eye for detail, a creative mind and be adept at data analysis. They will have demonstrated their ability to establish an effective marketing automation solution, segment markets and secure revenues, ideally from direct customers and via a partner channel strategy.

They will work directly with the Operations Director and Sales Director to define and execute the 3 year growth plans that underpin the business' growth strategy.

Purpose of Role

* To successfully develop and execute marketing plans (strategic and tactical).
* To implement and evolve a best-in-class marketing automation capability.
* To manage all marketing data, including GDPR compliance, acquisition, quality standards and duplications.
* To challenge and improve the current ways of working.
* To effectively position the business as the best quality operator in the eyes of the business' targets.
* To embrace, exploit and realise the tremendous opportunities of a modern digital marketing strategy.
* To drive award winning SEO, PPC, LinkedIn, social media and other targeted inbound enquires.
* To effectively support an existing outbound lead generation strategy.
* To lead a transition from the current traditional outbound lead generation process to an increasingly digitally led inbound model - shifting the focus / importance of new sales leads from outbound to inbound.

Principal Responsibilities

· Recruitment and growth of the Team.
· Leadership and development of the newly created marketing team.
· Evolution of all the key processes and systems required to deliver the above including, but not limited to, market leading CRM, marketing automation and email platforms.
· To take shared responsibility for hitting sales appointment targets.
· To generate operational and executive-level management information required to account for success vs plan.

* Demonstrable success in the shaping and development of a team equipped and energised at the prospect of delivering the business goals.
* Demonstrable success in leading the sustained delivery of sales and marketing results through digital web-based marketing (ideally in a B2B technology services environment) combined with more traditional lead generation techniques.

* Experience of identifying market trends, building sector and competitor intelligence and using that to refine the sales proposition.
