We are thrilled to be helping Sale Sharks find an outstanding and experienced Head of Sales to join their Partnerships and Hospitality department.

Originally founded in 1861, Sale Sharks are a Rugby Union team that plays in England's top rugby division. They are based in south Manchester at the Carrington Training Ground and play at the AJ Bell Stadium. They are looking for someone to execute the sales strategy to drive long term growth.


The Role:

This is a very varied role within the Partnerships and Hospitality department. You'll explore new initiatives to drive revenue growth, build a 3-year strategic roadmap for the sales team, audit and evolve the hospitality sales model, and much more.

Responsibilities -

*Plan, map and execute the sales strategy for the Club to drive long term business growth, working collaboratively with marketing and operations to ensure an integrated approach to business planning and execution
*Build a 3-year strategic roadmap for the sales team outlining short and long terms goals and targets to maximise revenue opportunities, working in parallel with the Head of Marketing
*Review and evolve the partnership framework and existing partnership contracts, assessment and analysis of rights packages with a view to re-defining the approach to be more progressive
*Audit and evolve the hospitality sales model providing insights and recommendations, working closely with the Operations team
*Explore new initiatives to drive revenue growth outside of traditional routes
*Develop an understanding of the existing partner markets to establish opportunities that are a strong brand fit to Sale Sharks and align to the Clubs' brand values and strategic direction
*Work with the Partnerships Manager to engage with leading brands to establish appropriate new categories and partners, building and managing those relationships directly and through the broader team
*Build compelling sales presentations to support the Partnerships Manager in securing new partners, contract negotiation and renewal agreements
*Support the Partnership Manager with contract negotiations to maximise the relationships
*Support the Delivery Manager with activation of contractual assets and hospitality
*Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
*Tracking and analysis of commercial performance to provide regular reports to Club stakeholders including LYs comparison, forecast v actuals tracking, rights delivery performance and value, seasonal hospitality and match day hospitality
*Promote the philosophy of Learn, Care, Develop through setting team goals, individual performance goals and reviews, identify training needs, coaching and development


Who is the ideal candidate?

We are looking for someone with many years' experience working in sales, preferably within a professional sports environment, and a demonstrable track record of sales success in a partnerships environment.

You'll be experienced in managing a sales team and have the ability to build strong working relationships. Experience working in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and a high attention to detail will be essential.

Knowledge of the sports sponsorship marketplace would be highly desirable.
