JOB TITLE: Head of Business Development
LOCATION: Huddersfield however can really be based anywhere in the UK. Living near M4 corridor preferably.

Salary: £50k-£65k DOE

PURPOSE OF ROLE
This key position in our client's business leads the business development of one side of the business. Our client has exciting and significant growth plans to more than double the size of this department of the business in the next 5 years. The largest part of this growth will come from new products and acquisitions which is the remit of the Head of Business Development.
At all times, you will act professionally and model our values, champion our culture and the change agenda. You will protect the company from breaches of compliance and maintain our integrity internally and externally.
You will be expected to create and lead an industry leading business development function, managing a pipeline of products from the client's parent company, from initial interest through to launch whilst creating local deals to enhance this pipeline.
KEY TASKS/OBJECTIVES
* Lead the UK business development to further strengthen the UK pipeline, target and deliver in-licensing and acquisitions that will drive us towards our strategic ambition.
* To hunt for, assess and recommend whether to proceed on all products
* To hunt for, assess of and recommend whether to proceed on all acquisitions
* To negotiate on all new business opportunities
* To lead on the NPD process ensuring a timely launch of all new products
* To work across the team to agree on and lead the strategic plans to launch products as required
* To manage the BD team and develop them to perform with excellence in all aspects of their roles
* Conduct annual performance reviews and development plans with your direct reports
* To constantly track and report on a monthly basis to the Director of Commercial on future launches and value
* To manage the BD budget
* To build relationships with and support the wider business as a leader
* To live the values of Entrepreneurship, Integrity, Agility.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Essential:
*Proven experience in Business Development role for Rx
*Proven experience in Pharmaceutical Industry with a network essential
*Effectively able to influence across all levels of the organisation.
*Able to act at speed and with pace.
*Culturally able to work across global markets.
*Good negotiation skills
*Good basic financial skills when assessing market opportunities, technologies, products, and alliances.
*Proven experience in the acquisition of products/companies and Licensing

*An effective change agent
Candidates who are experienced Sr. Business Development Executives or Business Development Managers with pharma background & looking for a step change will be considered.
