Job description

Director of Internal Communications & Engagement - North West, hybrid- c£80k - £100k + exec package - Permanent

We are excited to be partnering this North West brand in their search for a new internal communications leader. With a rich heritage and some big and bold plans on the horizon, this will be a career-defining opportunity.

Whilst internal communications is a well-established function here, this is by no means a maintenance role. With a great reputation already and strong foundations, the incoming leader will be very much taking all things comms and engagement to the next level, ensuring everyone is along for the journey.

This will be a high profile role in the organisation, working hand in glove with the Exec leadership team to develop and execute impactful, engaging and accessible communication and engagement strategies both yourself and through your team. You will be the voice and face of the business internally, both directly and indirectly working with leaders to help them hone their skills and giving them the tools they need to be confident communicators. You will be developing a people engagement and experience strategy which touches all parts of the employee journey, using insights to inform future plans and initiatives and enables the business to position itself as an employer of choice.

Like many businesses the last few years have been a challenge and as they focus on the future Internal Communications and Engagement is evermore critical to help land large change programmes, ensuring comms are handled sensitively and allowing the business to gauge the mood and feeling of the business, developing and maintaining an open dialogue with a diverse channel mix which works for it's hugely diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.

This will be a high profile position and we are looking for a commercially and intellectually agile communications and engagement leader who is versatile and has a variety of tools and ideas up their sleeve. This person will be expected to work highly collaboratively with the wider HR team and peers at a leadership level, so some understanding of HR / People teams would be beneficial, along with experience of highly complex and multi site businesses.

The office base is North West and visibility will be expected along with some travel, however hybrid working is fully embedded.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion are integral to everything that we do. We are committed to these values and they are central to our mission. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities, and we are more than happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments that you may require.
