Job description

Our client is a leading construction and B2B business that operates internationally and is the leader in its field. Operating out of their head office in South Manchester, the marketing and digital team are looking for a specialist customer focused Marketing Director to take the business/team forward.

Key objectives
To lead business thinking, idea generation, and innovation across, Customer and channel, Demand and lead generation, Business and market insight, Brand and perception.
Executing the business thinking, idea generation and innovation via rolling three-year Marketing and Customer Engagement Plans which are aligned with the Organisation's Strategic Plan, and which deliver the Organisation's Annual Budget.
Delivery of the Annual Budget will be through a primary focus on customer and channel, incorporating demand and lead generation, customer perception, and product. This role will work closely with Sales, Operations, Technical, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Finance to provide both clarity and vision in the development and implementation of the Marketing and Customer Engagement Plans, including understanding of trading performance and recommending corrective actions where required.

Main Responsibilities
Customer & Channel - To define and manage the customer engagement strategy across the organisation's chosen routes to market. This involves developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of customer, channel and sector needs, customer performance and potential, market share(s), perception, competitor activity, the legislative environment, and trends.

Demand Generation & Market Share - Demand generation should maximise Marketing Return on Investment, maximising Marketing ROI, channel strategy and performance should be used to guide business Sales Cycles by sector.

New Customer & Market Sector Solutions - Define the target market, the key players, key decision makers, and how to access the market. Ensuring all Stakeholders fully understand and deliver against the needs.

Customer Interface - Establish credibility with customers at many levels, so that that they have confidence all issues and problems will be solved quickly. Pro-actively interface with customers and the sales teams and be a 'point of contact' where required for customers.

Digital marketing - Plan and executive the digital marketing activity in the UK, responsible for budget execution guidance to other markets. Lead and develop digital marketing content and campaign strategy.

Management & Reporting - managing a team of 15+, this will require detailed monthly report by Channel / Product Group / Sales Division, Product Pipeline, managing multiple projects across the team by sector, forward planning to fit in with products/campaigns and events across the year.

Requirements
As mentioned, any candidate will require a focus or experience in a B2B environment, with a strong focus on the customer, less communications and brand and more on the return and ROI across the divisions within the team. A candidate who has worked closely with category, sales divisions with direct reporting into the board and commercial team.
