Head of Communications
The Head of Communications is responsibile for the planning and execution of all of a business' communications, both internal and external.
Responsibilities
Develop a brand voice and maintain integrity across all platforms and channels
Establish and execute a multi-channel communications strategy
Manage all brand communications
Media relations and networking
Creating relationships with influencers and community leaders
Lead the Communications team
Assist in the creation of content
Data recording, analysis and reporting
Oversee presence at industry events (conference, trade shows, etc)
Develop and manage the Communications budget
Expected Skills & Qualifications
Excellent communication skills
Influencing skills
Previous team management experience and good leadership skills
Minimum 5 years in marketing, communications, or public relations
Impeccable copywriting and editing skills
Familiarity with relevent technology, e.g. Adobe
A degree in a related discipline is often desireable
Salary
The average UK annual salary for a Head of Communications is £64,000. This can rise to around £75,000 in London. A Head of Commications in the North of England can expect approx. £52,000 per year. Annual bonuses are common for the role, alongside other benefits. (Glassdoor, March 2022)
