Full Time: Permanent

Salary: up to £100k plus bonus

We're on the lookout for an experienced Strategic Sales Director, who has experience growing and developing sales teams from scratch. This is an exciting opportunity with a global procurement services company whose ambitious growth will propel your career. You will be leading and developing the sales team and supporting the advisory services business and aligning to new segments, new models and programmes. You will have a real influence on the direction of the sales function and will need to have a good understanding of competitor behaviour, product offers and talent. This is a new role for the business and a real opportunity for you to carve out a career within a multimillion-pound business.

The Role:

  • Ensure targets for new sales are met.
  • Further developing and evolving the sales function and team to support the GPO model
  • To ensure distinct diversification of new sales development in the UK&I - segment, category & model
  • Strong performance management and coaching ethic with measurable outcomes
  • Responsible for Sales payroll budget performance
  • Responsible for investing resource appropriately, in line with budget and business expectations
  • Representing the business at a senior level, deputizing for MD as required
  • Develop and implement a targeted sales plan that is fully aligned with the business strategy to drive growth with defined KPI's for achievement
  • Organise and lead sales activities, including the full review and evolution of the sales team (ensuring that key talent is brought into the business) and then driving out of best practice to ensure that the team are fully utilising all tools at their disposal
  • Identify new customers, clients, key accounts and markets
  • Develop strategic relationships with referral partners and key clients
  • Monitor competitor activity and report to the SLT UK&I as well as providing updates at the QBR and for financial and budgetary forecasting

Who are we looking for?

  • Significant experience in direct sales, preferably within procurement sector or hotel, venue or hospitality sales and with a strong industry network
  • Keen commercial acumen to grow and maximise sales in a highly target driven environment
  • Proven track record in recruiting, developing, managing and engaging a successful and high-performing sales team
  • Self-starter who can work independently in a large, agile and complex matrix business environment
  • Confident and articulate in public speaking and a negotiator with excellent written communication skills
  • Experience in budget management and measuring sales performance
  • Willingness to travel
