We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to cover maternity leave for our client. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, ideally to start asap. Currently, this is a work from home position. However, over the coming months, there will be a gradual shift back to campus-based work, with some flexible working options available.

Key Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead on developing and delivering marketing, communications and employer engagement strategies to build the reputation of the business as a lead provider of degree apprenticeships. You will plan, manage and lead on the development of integrated marketing strategies and plans. Overseeing delivery, providing leadership and management for one direct report and managing project budgets and resource allocation.

You will act as first line support within the business for marketing enquiries relating to apprenticeships and will lead specific activities across teams, acting as professional advisor to colleague. You will lead on strategies for measurement and evaluation to ensure alignment to wider business activities and deliver value for money.

You will be responsible for developing and leading appropriate marketing campaigns and materials (on and offline) to effectively promote degree apprenticeships, supporting strategic objectives around student recruitment and employer engagement. In addition, you will be responsible for CRM system management, the management and delivery of a suite of marketing events and the organisation and management of social media channels.

Key tasks include:

Strategy & Leadership - Working closely with colleagues to develop marketing, communications, and employer engagement strategy, acting as a senior member of staff, attending meetings/workshops, managing budgets, develop regular reporting processes.
Marketing and Communications - Be a specialist advisor for all marketing and communications, develop, manage and oversee strategies and operational plans, provide analysis and reports on marketing impact, develop high-quality authentic content, work with colleagues to identify media opportunities.
Administration - Oversee effective, efficient and pro-active administrative services across the function to ensure the smooth running of day to day operations, oversee & maintain relevant databases, oversee effective governance, risk management, and compliance processes.
Events - Develop a calendar of marketing and profile-raising events, provide leadership and direction for these events, manage teams to deliver these events.
Management/Teamwork - Manage and motivate staff, delegate work to effectively utilise resources, work flexible to adapt to changing priorities, provide training, support, mentoring and supervision.
Project Management - Lead and manage cross-function marketing projects and manage teams to ensure delivery, knowledge sharing, and impact. Plan and implement work projects, applying effective monitoring and controls.

Who is the ideal candidate?

Essential skills and knowledge:

*The ability to develop and deliver effective marketing and communications strategies in a large and complex organisation including writing copy, social, approving ads etc.
*Mix of B2B and B2c background will be ideal
*The ability to develop medium and long-term marketing plans and campaigns and manage budgets, combined with excellent organisational skills and able to manage multiple projects delivered to deadline and on budget.
*Big complex organisation background experience essential
*Proactive and creative person and someone who can work across different teams/faculties.
*First-class, all-round marketing skills including - advertising, media relations, publication production, copywriting, event management and design management.
*Knowledge and practical experience of digital marketing to support web and social networking media, as well as writing for the web.
*Knowledge of corporate, industry and professional standards in relation to marketing and events activity including (but not limited to) legal, technical accessibility, security, health and safety requirements.
*Specific knowledge and experience of digital marketing tactics and effectiveness including email campaigns, banner advertising, pay per click, and social media.
*Experience of successfully managing and prioritising a wide range of marketing projects from direct mail to major campaigns and complex projects.
*Experience of managing and maintaining CRM systems with knowledge of CRM Strategy.
*Experience of producing effective management reports to demonstrate activity to senior stakeholders.

Desirable skills:

*Evidence of continuing professional development in the marketing and communications field.
*An understanding of the key issues in higher education, and awareness of university structure would be preferable.
