Who's the business?

A high growth niche engineering business with multiple national and international locations. With over 600 employees there is large scale transformation ongoing as they look to the future and ensure they are robust and efficient as they enter the next phase of growth.

What's the background?

With the HRD having been in the business for c18 months now, they are looking to strengthen the HR function as a word spreads about the great work they are doing. There are multiple upcoming people related projects on the horizon as well as the day to day workload, and this hire is a really important one to help them move forward. The investment in HR both financially and culturally is significant and the business is seeing real value in the HR offering.

What's the role?

A true HR generalist role with exposure to all things people. You'll have a really varied workload covering both BAU and project work. Some of the big ticket items coming up are the introduction of a new HR system, reward and benefits review, and merger activity. You'll be balancing this with day to day activities including providing employment law advice, developing HR processes and collateral (including creation and updating of policies) and having regular update with stakeholders around how you can support then and what they need to lead their teams.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a HR professional who is knowledgeable and confident in their ability to provide sound HR support in a pragmatic and business focused way. As the business are still on a journey in terms of embedding HR, you will have a good idea of how to balance 'best practice' HR with real world HR ensuring the best possible outcomes for both the business and employee. You will have strong stakeholder management skills and not be afraid to challenge and push back where appropriate. This business is evolving at pace, therefore you must be resilient, able to manage a busy workload and be comfortable in a changeable environment. Ideally you will hold some level of CIPD qualification (the business will support further study).

Equity, diversity, and inclusion are integral to everything that we do. We are committed to these values and they are central to our mission. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities, and we are more than happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments that you may require.
