Job description

The business is predominantly North-West based and sits within professional services. With sites mostly across the North, they have grown by acquisition and through significant private equity investment. They are already a good business with a clear set of values, sector recognition; with engaged colleagues & positive business performance. With one eye on the future & organic progression, they are looking to strengthen their People team with this key hire: Head of People Operations.

In a nutshell, this role will be integral in collaborating with the broader People team and senior management in continuing to develop a contemporary, industry-leading people service. It offers ample opportunities to help shape the function, particularly focused on being user-friendly and supporting a great colleague experience.

No two days will be the same, but as a key conduit within the business, you can expect to pivot between HRIS, reward offering, internal comms, leading a team of HRBPs, performance management, employee relations, data reporting to name a few!

Expectations are high for the business, they are ambitious and you'll be joining like-minded colleagues; continuously striving for improvement and upholding service excellence. You'll be a strong team leader nurturing growth and ensuring cohesive teamwork and high standards of delivery as the business continues to grow.

You'll have demonstrable experience in People Operations and team management, preferably within a big, best-practice professional environment - where you'll know "what good People Operations looks like" and how to embed it. A keen eye for detail, adept stakeholder /communication skills, a knack for driving change, proactive solution-maker, will all be expressions that describe you to a tee.

Lastly, expertise in implementing best practices and fostering a positive culture based on respect and recognition of self to foster colleague engagement & support business performance will be instrumental in this role.

Hybrid working, typically 2-3 days/week in the office, either based from Manchester city centre or Merseyside.
