Head of HR - North West / Lancs - Permanent - Upto £75k doe

I'm currently partnered with the CEO of a small but highly successful / high growth business in the North West to recruit a Head of HR / HR Director.

Who are the business?

They are an ambitious and highly profitable business headquartered in the North West. Privately owned they have enjoyed sustained growth since inception and have become one of the market leaders in their specialist field.

What is the role?

As the most senior HR professional in the business reporting to the leadership team, you will completely develop and own the HR strategy and lead a small team to deliver it. Having grown significantly in recent years, they are now at a point where they need to formalise much of their HR structure and process, ensuring that strong performance and a positive culture are at it's heart. With growth often comes cultural challenges and so you will work closely with both leadership and employees to understand the 'as is' and where they want to get to , along with how you can support these goals.

An extremely pacy business, the Head of HR will be a truly commercial and business focused role, therefore the HR function must be set up to respond quickly, but also to anticipate what challenges may come down the line from a people perspective ensuring a robust and consistent approach which balances people and business priorities effectively.

A truly generalist position, you can expect to be involved in all aspects of HR from both a hands on and leadership perspective. This is likely to include talent development, talent attraction, engagement, performance management and employee relations and you will be expected to deliver alongside your team as well as leading them to deliver.

Who are they looking for?

The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly pragmatic, solutions driven and commercial HR professional. You must demonstrate true generalist HR experience at a leadership level, and have experience of leading a HR team. You will be comfortable operating both strategically and operationally, not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in when required. You will have experience partnering at senior leadership / board level and be comfortable in a diverse environment that includes both blue and white collar workers.
