Front End Developer (JavaScript)
Burnley
£28,000 - £35,000

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Front End Developer to join a market leading digital agency based in Burnley with a focus on Javascript. You'll be joining a growing team, with a well defined career path delivering leading edge interactive content pieces, websites and online tools for key clients.

You will have previous experience in the development space of 3+ years in a similar role and should be able to demonstrate where you've been involved with enhancing and extending build frameworks in JS/Node/React/PHP.

Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX/web designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Responsibilities
*Develop new user-facing features
*Build reusable code and libraries for future use
*Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
*Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
*Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
*Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Essential Skills
*Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
*Solid understanding of SASS
*Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
*Good understanding of ReactJS although expert level not required in this instance.
*Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
*Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as as Sketch and Photoshop is a plus.
*Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
*Proficient understanding of Git
*Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that sites and web apps built will adhere to them.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills in order to deal with clients and production teams concurrently and be willing (with training) to assist these teams where necessary with their work.
