Chief Marketing Officer

Location: Manchester (hybrid/remote)

Full Time: Permanent

We are exclusively working with a Private Equity backed leading technology business in Manchester who has experienced phenomenal growth over the last few years. Their ambitious growth plans for the future include market expansion, sector expansion and international expansion and as a result they are looking Chief Marketing Officer to help lead the way.

As the CMO, you will develop and implement a distinctive & differentiated brand strategy to achieve market share growth and execute the brand marketing plans across all customer and media channels. You will be a member of the Executive Leadership team with strategic responsibility for the ongoing definition, execution and commercialisation of the marketing strategy. You will create visionary communication plans (internally and externally) and continually evolve the company's strategic direction, commercial strategy, enhance company standards, best practices and white papers.

This includes full lifecycle responsibility for the brands development, targeting & positioning for each growth strategy, and further development of the customer proposition.

The Role:

  • Develop & implement the brand positioning, targeting and media strategy spend to achieve the P&L growth targets and marketing KPIs for acquisition, retention, active value metrics, customer and brand metrics, P&L product performance and ROI
  • Implementation of marketing performance & media channels, including attribution and direct ROI measurement for brand marketing, performance marketing (acquisition and digital attribution)
  • Develop & execute brand creative, media buying, on and offline advertising production, promotions, sponsorship, PR and customer experience areas.
  • Elevate the company's unique position in the social housing sector across the C-Suite, industry bodies (sector specific & technology)
  • Champion innovation across the organisation, conceptualising and creating new approaches.
  • Lead the organisation through change, role modelling new standards and ways of working.
  • Evaluate the external environment; recognises political, regulatory, market, technological and commercial needs to innovate.
  • Review and manage all agency and 3rd party relationships, ensure that all relationships are aligned to the marketing objectives
  • Develop and implement media channel strategies for brand, acquisition & retention across affiliates and partnerships, digital advertising (incl. PPC), retail marketing, non-digital advertising (incl. Press and TV), SEO and social media and introduce new innovative marketing channels
  • Development and implementation of the research, customer insight strategy including site analytics and reporting, market reporting and brand advocacy measurement
  • Steering product development prioritisation

  • Extensive marketing leadership experience within technology sector
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic marketing plans across all marketing channels
  • Experience leading, managing and inspiring a marketing team to promote team working, continuous improvement and learning.
  • Demonstrate accountability for achieving financial targets and reporting results
  • Someone who champions innovation and change
  • Ability to make decisions with imperfect information and move at pace, course correcting when necessary
  • Provides clear strong leadership on future direction of the company and leads the culture change required by the organisation
