The role:
We are looking for a Commercial Analyst for our client, based in Huddersfield. The purpose of the role is to provide accurate and timely reporting and analysis using a variety of internal and external data sources (e.g., EPOS, IRI, Kantar) to support the sales and marketing teams across all divisions.
This role will also support the Business Insight Manager in providing insights, ensuring that the business is measuring its overall performance accurately, at both brand and customer levels.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
1.To provide regular and ad hoc reports to the sales and marketing teams to drive competitive advantage and help with strategic decision making. This includes but is not limited to;
*Update monthly market share reports for all of our key brands and key markets (Rx & Consumer)
*Producing monthly category analysis for the consumer marketing team showing trends and month on month performance
*Update the monthly business performance report for the sales and marketing meeting
*Produce weekly EPOS sales, value, volume & distribution reports at brand, SKU and customer level (consumer), and look for trends in the data
*Produce and update NPD trackers
*Euromonitor reports - Review Euromonitor monthly and share any insightful reports on consumer healthcare with the wider team
2.Database maintenance - Ensure all our market insight databases are accurately maintained and updated in a timely manner. Resolve any areas of conflict and manage all data reconciliation between agencies to reach a satisfactory conclusion. Be the main point of contact for any queries.
3.Provide analysis to support the business insight manager in delivering category management objectives for the key accounts. Provide data to support with range reviews and merchandising, gaining listings of NPD and increasing our distribution.
4.Provide proactive and high-quality support for ad hoc requests from sales and marketing.

Who is the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate will possess advanced data analysis skills, as well as fantastic communication skills (including presentation delivery and report writing). They will be a results-focused team player, with basic influencing skills, the ability to problem solve, and the ability to develop relationships across the business.
This person will also be a self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills will be essential to the role. They will be highly organised, with excellent planning skills and the ability to manage priorities across multiple stakeholders, and an eye for spotting key trends.
Previous experience as a Category Analyst is essential.
