Head of Content
The Head of Content is responsible for designing, executing, and overseeing the content strategy at a business. Sometimes they may be known as a Content Director or Creative Director.
Responsibilities
Designing and implementing a content strategy
Working with a wide range of digital formats
Ensuring the team delivers high-quality content, from concept to delivery
Collaborating with other teams within the business, eg. Marketing
Stakeholder management
Driving reach, brand reputation, and recevnue using content
Managing the Content team
Expected Skills & Qualifications
Extensive experience working in media - both traditional and new media (eg. social)
Experienced in adapting content strategies
Ability to be innovative and creative
Exceptional editorial skills and experience within a media landscape
Strong leadership skills and proven experience managing a team
Excellent communication skills
Ability to problem-solve creatively
Good planning and organisation skills
Salary
The average UK annual salary for a Head of Content is £89,000. This can rise to around £106,000 in London. Head's of Content in the north of England can expect approx. £55,000 - £60,000 per year. Annual bonuses are common for the role, alongside other benefits. (TotalJobs, March 2022)
