​Brand Managers, also known as Marketing Managers, responsible for the perceptions your customer has of your brand. Their aim is to create an instantly recognisable product or service that is regarded positively in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with external agencies to deliver marketing campaigns

  • Develop custom brand management plans for products/services

  • Report on brand exposure to management

  • Perform market research studies to gather brand data

  • Recruit and manage a team of assistants to execute campaign work

  • Scrutinise existing campaigns and develop solutions

  • Manage a marketing budget

Qualifications

Brand Managers typically have a degree in Marketing, Advertising or similar. It is possible to gain equivalent industry experience by starting as a Marketing Assistant and learning on the job. You would usually need 5+ years industry experience for a Brand Manager position.

Salary

The average salary in the UK for a Brand Manager is £25,000 - £51,000 p.a. These roles often have a bonus or commission scheme in addition to a base salary.

Career Progression

Often the role of Brand Manager leads to a Head of Marketing or Marketing Director role in the future.
