Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Press Officer to work for a well-established, cutting-edge Public-Sector Organisation in Cheshire.

As Press Officer, you will provide a communication service in a fast-paced environment to support operational incidents and to develop appropriate responses to a range of often sensitive and complex enquiries from the media.

You'll be comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders and journalists at a national news environment. Managing your workload independently and responding to short deadlines. A 'can do' attitude and sense of ownership are essential skills for being successful in this role.

Would will you will be doing?
-Be heavily involved on the day-to-day press office management: researching, copywriting and submitting press releases on the healthcare and energy industries.
-Media relations supported by/managing the media database, distribution and reporting.
-Monitoring and reporting on media activity and maintaining archives.
-Updating websites using content management tools.
-Sourcing/writing and managing the distribution of content through social media (Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn).
-Preparing weekly/monthly PR reports.

Experience -
-Have worked in a successful in-house PR team
-Experience leading successful and imaginative PR campaigns from planning through to analysis
-A track record of excellent relationships with journalists.
-Experience of maintaining trusted and influential relationships with senior management within the national press.
-Experience of crisis comms - both planning and in practice
-Impeccable attention to detail
