Job Title: Communications Business Partner
Company: Utilities Organisation
Location: Eastern network some knowledge of the East Media ( South Yorkshire/East Midlands, East of England)
Focus of the role: This role is mainly focused on media relations, proven experience as a Press Officer with crisis comms experience and some internal communications. Internal and external press management. For this role, the candidate will be on a one week in four, out of hours on call duty rota covering all of the networks. (In reality this normally translates to being called out just a few times a year outside of hours)

Hybrid role:
Base Salary: £40k-£50k DOE & company car (some travelling to depots)

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Media:
Deliver a media relations plan which includes on-going media visibility, and issues/crisis response, positively raising the profile of your designated area and protecting the reputation of the organisation. Deliver excellent internal communications to connect employees to one another.
General:
Supporting and enabling business stakeholders to deliver compelling external and internal communications campaigns that excite and engage employees, customers and wider stakeholders with strategic priorities and plans for the future · You will work with functional and network leads/senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on the communication of complex plans, change programmes, corporate initiatives and enhancing our profile in the with customers, media and key stakeholders. They will build relationships and influence on strategy, priorities, values and direction with the confidence to constructively challenge, influence and guide communications decisions · Supporting the development and delivery of the Communications strategy for the network, a strong understanding of the communications mix/multi-channel approach and planning is essential for this role · Play a critical role in positively building our brand internally and externally and ensuring all guidelines are adhered to, following the appropriate policies and guidelines. Measuring the impact of content to report on effectiveness and inform future approach · Develop a communications plan for your area of responsibility · Deliver sensitive communications internally and externally, protecting the organisation brand and values.
Specialist responsibilities:
Building and maintaining positive working relationships with key regional, trade, international business/financial and some national journalists as well as the press and media teams of key regional and some national stakeholders, in order to seek proactive media opportunities to increase knowledge and understanding of the business, it's strategy and position in society.
Contribute effectively to crisis management, incident and media handling
Support external media activity such as print production, broadcast (TV and radio), digital and social
media, photography, video and research
Good technical knowledge to deliver appropriate graphic and online communications
materials, including website, intranet, print, film, digital and social media

Skills and attributes required:
A strong understanding of the communications mix/multi-channel approach and planning is essential for this role ·
Proven ability to develop and implement media and external communication plans and campaigns
· Knowledge of media relations best-practice and related communications activities including working
knowledge of corporate public relations, crisis communications & issues management
· Ability to write for a range of communication channels, flexing tone and style to suit the message
and the audience group
· Creative and innovative and demonstrates the ability to adapt the content and style of
communication messages to appeal to their audience with the right messages in order to influence
and generate needed business results, based on an understanding of a particular function or group
