Digital Project Manager
As a digital project manager, you will usually work for an organisation or agency although you may also work as a freelance consultant.
It is your role to manage, develop and deliver digital service and software projects which streamline, enhance or promote the products, services or operations of your organisation or its clients and contribute to commercial growth and profitability.
Typical Responsibilities for the Digital Project Manager
As a digital project manager, your responsibilities may vary widely depending on the industry you work in and the requirements of your employer or client, however most will expect you to fulfil the following:
Project Management
You may be expected to manage one, or several digital projects at any one time and will need exceptional organisational skills to oversee them successfully from conception to completion.
Being able to communicate effectively, to discuss or write about complex technical tasks in language appropriate to a varied audience is critical.
You will need to liaise, negotiate and collaborate in writing or in person with clients, external agencies, departmental personnel and business leaders to understand the scope, budgets and timescales of a project as well as the skills, resources or operational constraints necessary and develop plans accordingly.
It is your responsibility to ensure that as projects develop, creative briefs and task schedules are followed and any resources or budgets are kept on track throughout the process so that effective digital services are delivered.
Problem Solving
You will be a skilled problem solver who enjoys the challenges that each digital project presents, and possess the technical knowledge, interpersonal skills and creative flair to find solutions to them.
In addition to utilising your own Scrum or Waterfall digital project management skills, you will need to foster good relationships with your colleagues and clients to understand the specific requirements of a project and utilise their knowledge, expertise and resources to meet them.
You will need a sound working knowledge of design tools including HTML, CSS, CMS, as well as an understanding of analytics, content strategy, social media, e-commerce, product testing and the latest technological trends and developments in internet devices.
Leadership
Although much of your work will require you to work independently, you may need to lead specialists in various departments such as marketing, sales, distribution and software engineering to ensure that each individual understands the vision and targeted aims of a digital project and collaborates efficiently and effectively to achieve it.
You will be required to provide regular reports to clients or business leaders on the progress of digital projects and may also need to facilitate training for employees tasked with project responsibilities, or train the users of any app, website or piece of software that you develop.
Digital Project Manager Salary Range
Depending on the requirements of your employer, your experience and the region you work in, as a digital project manager you can expect to earn a salary of £23k to £41k+, and enjoy various benefits and bonus packages.

Building your career in Stoke Newington
Located in the North-East of London between Holloway and Stratford, Stoke Newington is a quaint residential area brimming with indie shops, chic cafes and hip bars. Also, thanks to the large Jewish, Quaker and Turkish communities there are a variety of lip-smacking eateries to try. Music fans will fall in love with the Vortex Jazz club too, one of the best jazz clubs in London.
Stoke Newington is a perfect London destination for those who prefer a quiet life away from the madness of the city. Owing to the lack of a tube station, the area rarely feels overcrowded as tourists are few and far in-between. However, there are plenty of other transportation options, making Stoke Newington ideal for commuters who don’t want to live in the centre of London.
