They are looking for an experienced developer to lead the team, taking responsibility for site architecture and the development of key apps. You will be leading a team of in house and remote developers.
Several of the key digital properties are built using Python on Django frameworks. For this reason, they are looking for someone with extensive Python and Django (specifically Django-Oscar) experience.
Role and responsibilities:
*You will be at the centre of the development cycle; working on all stages from concept and project initiation to delivery and support. *Working in an Agile environment using Scrum methodology *Leading on the development of concepts and solutions in response to challenging software requirements *Training, mentoring and collaborating with other team members to ensure our teams maintain high standards *Designing and implementing apps *Ensuring QA standards (testing and code reviews) are met
Essential Skills:
*A broad understanding of and experience in best practice in web development *Extensive experience of Python and Django including Django-Oscar *Database technologies (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL)
Desirable Skills:
*Experience developing single page applications using AJAX and JSON. *Linux Sysadmin skills *Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and/or Android platforms *Experience with JavaScript client application design *Knowledge of Continuous Integration, Configuration Control and change management systems (e.g. Jenkins, Mercurial, Jira).
