Job description

People Director - £70k - £80k - North West / Remote - Permanent

This super high growth tech / digital / creative business are looking to recruit a senior HR professional into their first People Director role. Having recently received significant external investment they are on the crest of a wave and are looking for a passionate and experienced HR professional to help them grow and develop a people strategy which brings people along on this hugely exciting journey.

Reporting into a CEO who believe that 'nothing is more important than the people', this person will have a truly great opportunity to influence and impact the next phase of their growth. Having grown their headcount significantly over the last 18 months, with further key hires planned over the new few years, it's a great time to join as they make the leap from a small owner managed business to a larger, private equity backed power house in their field.

The People Director will find that there are some great basics in place already however they are not precious as to how you work with these, you can use and develop or start from scratch - completely your call, and you can shape the function as you see fit over the next few years. What is truly important to them is that you continue their ethos of 'creating opportunities'. For them this means ensuring robust performance and competency frameworks are in place so that careers can be developed and a culture of growth and innovation is cultivated. Leadership development will be really key to their sustained growth, particularly as their numbers swell, so understanding how leaders can lead high performance teams in high growth environments will be really important.

Additionally, recruitment is high on the agenda for them, so the development of a talent attraction and engagement strategy will be a huge part of the role, including the review and implementation of industry leading reward and benefits packages.

It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway!) that the People Director must have strong employment law knowledge, and be able to support managers with any issues that do arise from time to time, in addition to leading any future people changes that arise from so much growth.

This business are a creative tech business working with some huge household names, and they are ideally seeking someone who has worked in the tech / digital world previously, who understands its quirks and can hit the ground running. Although they have their roots in Manchester, they have recently become a fully remote business therefore the location of the candidate is secondary to the level of experience and sector fit. That said we are looking for someone to be at least UK based.

Shortlisting is likely to take place in mid January, so get your details over to us ASAP to be included in the review process. Apply via the link.
