Payroll Manager

What is the role?

Working in partnership with this organisation, we are looking for a Payroll Manager to join a large blue chip business based in Merseyside. The payroll is circa 2,500 employees and encompasses both monthly & weekly payrolls.

What does the role entail?

First and foremost, attention to detail is paramount. As Payroll Manager, you will be accountable for managing & delivering both a monthly & weekly payroll through a small team; on time & accurately.

Operationally this role entails all the usual aspects of payroll management namely around managing the system alongside current legislation requirements and ensuring that best practice principles are followed and communicated across relevant parties in the business.
More specifically around accountancy journals, producing year end reports & documents, temporary changes, liaising & reporting streams with third party providers and providing added value management information and analysis.

More tactically you will keep ahead of future changes and plan for these accordingly, alongside review and enhancement of current systems and ways of working.

Who are we looking for?

You will have an appropriate track record of payroll management experience (on a monthly and weekly basis) within a large corporate organisation, alongside a payroll qualification. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management is paramount for this role in addition to technical expertise. You will possess excellent IT capabilities including Excel, and a working knowledge of SAGE would be highly preferable.
