HR Manager

📍 Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales

📅 Permanent

💰 c£65,000 plus benefits

🏢 3-4 days on site

Who is the business?

A diverse and evolving manufacturing business with a growing presence in South Wales and a global footprint. This role offers the opportunity to play a key role within a developing site.

What is the role?

This is a standalone HR Manager role supporting a developing site in the area. Working closely with the local leadership team, while maintaining strong relationships with the wider HR and business functions, you will lead and deliver the local HR strategy.

The role will be instrumental in supporting the ramp-up of the site. You will play a key role in recruitment and onboarding, working alongside the wider TA and HR teams, while embedding company values and behaviours throughout the employee journey. You will also bring valuable local market insight, including knowledge of talent availability, salary benchmarking, and pay rates.

In addition, you will lead local learning and development activity, including mandatory training, skills development initiatives, and apprenticeship support.

As the on-site HR expert, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle, including areas such as absence management, performance management, and employee relations casework. You will also partner closely with leaders to provide practical and commercially focused HR support.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a true HR generalist with strong technical employee relations knowledge and experience. You will have managed complex ER cases and be comfortable partnering with senior leaders within an operational environment.

This role requires someone who is hands-on and confident operating autonomously. While there is strong support from the wider Group HR function, the day-to-day HR activity will sit locally, so you must be comfortable balancing strategic input with operational delivery. You should be confident challenging stakeholders where needed, delegating effectively, and rolling your sleeves up to deliver practical solutions.

Previous experience within a manufacturing or operational environment would be highly beneficial, and you must be comfortable being on site 3-4 days per week.

The salary for this role is c£65,000 plus benefits, and applicants should be able to demonstrate strong UK employment law knowledge and experience.

Equity, diversity and inclusion are integral to everything we do. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace and encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities. We are also happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments required throughout the recruitment process.
