What is the role?

The role is a Head of Learning & Development reporting to the HR Director, and managing a small team.

Who are the organisation?

NW based, the organisation is a well established, high profile, commercial business and they require a commercial Learning & Development professional to join their broader HR team to drive & implement the development strategy.

Tell me more about the role.

This is a broad Learning & Development role, where you will manage senior stakeholder relationships and work closely with business leaders to provide first class learning programmes & interventions to ensure business performance is enhanced. Responsible for the Group development strategy & budget, you will focus on the policy, processes & systems which will ultimately drive career development & performance both on an individual & collective basis. With a keen interest in leadership development and coaching, you will be adept at hands on learning delivery whilst also ensuring that programmes are delivered through the team across the organisation. With accountability for a significant budget (plus Apprenticeship Levy); this role will ensure maximum benefit is achieved by selecting appropriate solutions to suit the requirements of the business.

Who are they looking for?

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of learning & development management within a complex, fast paced, highly commercial organisation, and will be comfortable with the full design and delivery of a diverse range of contemporary & innovative learning interventions (including e-learning programmes) across all levels of the business, particularly in the areas of leadership development and coaching alongside soft & technical skills. You will be able to clearly demonstrate return on investment as a result of your learning interventions, and signpost to how you have effectively impacted succession planning & management. Possessing relevant training qualifications and preferably a credited coach, you will have practical application of various development models, in combination with assessment techniques.

A confident communicator, adept in a full range of development techniques, you will possess the ability to build strong working & pragmatic business relationships, and a true passion to help drive the development strategy forward.
