We are partnering with a leading, independent UK based Advertising Agency and they are looking for a high calibre Client Director to help them drive forward their flagship retail account.
In this role you’ll work closely with clients in your portfolio to develop accounts for mutual success, and you’ll be responsible for financial performance as well as ensuring the agency delivers a consistently excellent client experience.
You’ll be comfortable with a broad range of disciplines. You’ll have an exceptional ability to communicate your ideas and build trust and confidence through meaningful, proactive dialogue. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll be constantly solving business problems, managing internal and external communications, and driving projects to completion through team management. You’ll also be involved in winning new work through pitches.
What you will be doing….
*Act as a highly visible, respected and trusted adviser to clients
*Act as an ambassador for the agency by demonstrating a sound understanding of disciplines
*Accountable for the strength of the client relationship with the agency overall
*Work with the planning team to develop strategic plans and effectiveness measures
*Present confidently and articulately both internally and externally
*Effectively and fairly delegate workload through the team for the most efficient process
*Inspire and empower more junior members of the team, encouraging them to take ownership
*Identify and maximise opportunities to increase revenue, cross-selling group services
*Actively contribute to the annual marketing plan to develop accounts
*Create and devise winning proposals with support from the senior team
*Demonstrate strong creative and strategic judgment to ensure work is consistently of the highest quality
*Understand your clients’ competitive issues, business challenges, opportunities and industry trends
*Confidentially negotiate additions, extensions, or reductions to agreed contracts keeping in mind the commercial interests of the company
*Anticipate the future challenges of existing and potential clients and foster long-term, knowledge driven relationships
*Present a cohesive and compelling strategic narrative to the agency teams, inspiring them to develop amazing work that solves business problems
*Oversee account finances, including revenue forecasting
What you will have….
*Several years’ experience in a senior agency or client side account management role
*MIPA accredited status (or working towards MIPA) or any other relevant marketing qualifications as defined by the company
*A passion for marketing, advertising and effectiveness
*Setting strategic direction of key client accounts
*Commercial excellence, proven experience with managing budgets to maximise business profitability and adding value to clients
*Excellent conflict/issue management skills for assisting to manage both the wider team and the client
*Flawless operational skills with campaign delivery and project management across a demanding workload
*Understanding of all marketing comms disciplines including traditional (broadcast, print and digital) advertising, POS, marketing collateral production
*Superb communications skills and the ability the build very strong relationships internally and externally at all levels
*Proven track record with developing long-term, trusted client relationships
*An ability to simplify complex ideas and present a clear and engaging strategic narrative to a wide range of audiences
*Confidence in presenting ideas & project requirements compellingly to senior clients/ team members
*Resilient and positive in difficult situations
