This well-established agency are looking for an experienced integrated Account Director to support one of their key Client Partners. The AD will be responsible for the day-to-day running of part of this account (approx. 50%), working alongside another Account Director. Both report to the Client Partner.
The AD will be responsible for developing and retaining relationships, managing the financials on the projects that they are working on/overseeing, providing these to the Client Partner for onwards reporting to the Board and managing a Senior Account Manager.
The AD should have at least 8 years integrated agency experience, have experience of working on a blue-chip client, have proven experience of developing and growing a client’s financial value, used to dealing with senior clients and be able to have strategic conversations with these people.
What you will be doing….
Client Relationship – responsibility for specific client relationships, income, quality of work and strategic advice; specifically:
1)Proactively managing the relationship ensuring that the clients receive a first-class service from the agency, regular review and status meetings are conducted and that the client is managed in a professional and friendly manner at all times.
2)In conjunction with the Client Partner, develop a client contact strategy that includes senior clients that the agency are working with as well as clients that they have either worked with or wish to work with.
3)Help prepare client/agency reviews at least once a year.
4)Delivering first-class creative work to the client at all times, ensuring attention to detail and quality are at the core of everything they produce.
5)Strategic development of the clients business and ensuring that they identify client business challenges and opportunities to address these challenges.
6)Ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget and that all day-to-day issues are highlighted in advance and over-runs agreed.
Team Management – responsibility for one Senior Account Manager and support of the production teams including objective setting, reviews, management support and training and development to enable them to grow; specifically:
1)Clear objective setting and monthly reviews to ensure that that these objectives are being met and adjust where necessary to meet the business/individuals needs.
2)Support the team to ensure they are listened to, have a fair mix of admin and more challenging projects and feel they are learning and challenged in their daily roles.
3)Ensure that key rigour and processes exist within the client/agency relationship and internally to support the delivery of excellent quality work, advice and Project Management at all stages.
4)Ensure that weekly team meetings are held to allow visibility of all projects, financials, issues, successes.
Financial – ownership of the forecast for the jobs they are responsible for:
1)Update and amend the above forecast weekly to ensure that the business has the most accurate possible forecast at any give time.
2)Attend weekly financial meetings with the UK CEO, UK FD, Client Partner and client services team to run through existing and future forecast.
3)Manage the recovery on the account to ensure that the business is run at a profit and areas of concern are highlighted to the Client Partner.
4)Ensure the accuracy of quotes and proposals to ensure that they agency makes a profit on each and every project before they kick-off.
5)Ensure that purchase orders and/or written approval to progress on a project is received prior to committing to any time/external costs on a client project.
1)Organisation/use of resources – to ensure that the team are extremely well organised and tight management of the client is always in place.
2)Inserting a degree of process/rigour in the relationship to ensure that they are working off clearly defined briefs – before the resource starts to be used.
3)Financial Management – affected by the above, it is key that quotes are accurately and realistically put together to cover the likely resource required to deliver the project. Then it’s key that this is tightly managed to ensure recovery rates are maintained.
4)Team management is crucial – this agency values its people and it is important that they look after and support the people that work for them.
5)Ensure that you are seen as the point of contact for everyday enquiries
6)Maintain an understanding of current market issues and trends and relevant marketing solutions so as to be able to offer a high level advice and consultancy to clients.
7)Open up new relationships and exploit all opportunities, pushing all disciplines where appropriate – brand, digital, environments and experiential.
