Securing BIMA a New Managing Director

BIMA’s Managing Director, Bridget Beale, had been with the company since 2011. But after seventeen years in London, she had decided to return to her home in New Zealand.
This left BIMA with a senior executive role to fill fast.
The company wasted no time in enlisting Adam Recruitment to find Bridget’s replacement. Adam is a valued member of the BIMA community and the team came highly recommended by BIMA board members who had used Adam’s recruitment services previously.
With urgency being paramount, the process started with a discovery session with both Bridget Beale and the co-presidents of BIMA, to discuss the qualities and experience required of the new MD and refine the job specification. Strong commercial and team leadership experience were essential as well as a background in the digital industry and robust leadership experience in membership-based organisations.
Leon Milns (Adam Founder) utilised his contact base to identify the best candidates, identifying senior leadership talent in related business, the agency world and from competing bodies.
In the space of two weeks, he put forward ten high quality candidates, all of which were of “exceptional quality” according to Central Council Member, Keith Hunt.
The strength of the candidate pool was so strong, eight of the ten candidates were selected for the first round of interviews. This was owed to their varied skill sets and experience. The BIMA board saw potential in all the candidates. Their varying levels of experience and skill sets were attractive assets, worth investigating further. Leon worked tirelessly at all stages of the interview process to ensure candidates were fully prepared and kept up to date at all stages.
When eight become four, Adam prepared the final shortlist of candidates for the next stage of the process. A task-based exercise was required, along with a Q&A session with BIMA board members. A stand out candidate in Holly Hall was identified and she was promptly offer the role in February 2018.
