​Head of Content

The Head of Content is responsible for designing, executing, and overseeing the content strategy at a business. Sometimes they may be known as a Content Director or Creative Director.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing a content strategy

  • Working with a wide range of digital formats

  • Ensuring the team delivers high-quality content, from concept to delivery

  • Collaborating with other teams within the business, eg. Marketing

  • Stakeholder management

  • Driving reach, brand reputation, and recevnue using content

  • Managing the Content team

Expected Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working in media - both traditional and new media (eg. social)

  • Experienced in adapting content strategies

  • Ability to be innovative and creative

  • Exceptional editorial skills and experience within a media landscape

  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience managing a team

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to problem-solve creatively

  • Good planning and organisation skills

Salary

The average UK annual salary for a Head of Content is £89,000. This can rise to around £106,000 in London. Head's of Content in the north of England can expect approx. £55,000 - £60,000 per year. Annual bonuses are common for the role, alongside other benefits. (TotalJobs, March 2022)
