New Year, New Career…
Were you one of the many not looking forward to 4th
January this year?
You're not alone. Some view January as a bad time to look for a
job, some make a New Year's resolution to find something new, some
are daunted at the prospect of leaving their comfort zone, taking
up a new challenge or letting their current employer down.
How about you? Are you in the right role for you and well
aligned with your aspirations ? Are you in the right company,
industry or even the right profession? 2012 is the time to take a
hold of your career and steer it into the right direction. Don't be
afraid to take on new challenges and tasks that may normally faze
you, think of how they may benefit you in the future.
If you decide you want to source a new role,
find your passion and pursue it. Ensure you adopt a targeted
approach, set yourself achievable goals and seek out well aligned
companies and roles to your skills and experience and most
importantly be as proactive as you can. This approach tends to be
much more effective than sending your Cv blind to every vacancy you
see and you will be able to systematically follow up every
application and seek the desired feeback.
