I opened my eyes to a bright sunny morning, couldn't resist a
brief look at twitter, Facebook and linked (sad I know but up early
with the kids!). I noticed a lot of very obvious negative
sentiment, either about the strikes or about the divisions
politically, economically as well as the age old public versus
private sector squabbles.
I'm not really interested in any of that; why? In my view,
because there is enough negativity from all sides to drag even the
most positive down! I then read a very positive article by
Sir Richard Bransontalking about "When
inexperience is an advantage" . What a positive message with no
thought for anything other than future growth.
With this idea in mind, it sprang to mind the things I must do
better at, the things that really make a difference, at home, at
work and the people that surround us.
So then you ask what am I going to do to make a difference
today? I thought of Mr Branson and everything I do today will
be solely focussed on positive action only.
For me, helping our team to grow our business, hire people,
launch a new division, win a new client, help a person who thinks
their job is at threat, help a business who is short of some
specific skills, and be nice to screaming children even at 1am (the
hardest I admit).
Finally, above all, remain positive and have some realistic
objectives for every day. I wonder what would happen if we could
all achieve this today?
